Health & Safety

At PMA, we believe that every worker, subcontractor, and visitor has the right to a safe and secure environment on all work sites.

In an industry where risk is ever-present, we take a proactive, no-compromise approach to protecting our people, such as:

  • Hosting our annual company-wide health and safety seminar
  • Achieving and maintaining our ISO-45001 accreditation
  • Conducting regular site audits
  • Collating comprehensive training for all staff which is specifically tailored to each job and site
  • Initiating RAMS and other site safety documents on all PMA sites which are checked daily, weekly and monthly throughout the duration of a project

Vetting and Security Clearances

We have an in-house vetting team who are responsible for clearing new staff to work on site. This team work closely with a number of government departments and agencies to make this process as swift and efficient as possible.

PMA have staff members who are key trained at various establishments, these operatives are familiar with managing the prison process and supervising walkarounds independently.

Information Security

At PMA information security is paramount and protecting our client’s data is a priority. We ensure information security throughout the construction project lifecycle is kept at the forefront of any decisions we make.

Certified, trusted and secure

PMA are certified by the UK Government backed Cyber Essential Plus scheme providing our business with a robust cyber resilience and added reassurance to our clients that their data is secure and fully protected.

We work with industry leading IT partners to proactively manage and evolve our security requirements.  This ensures our system, and our clients data, is always protected to the highest standards.

PMA's Sustainability Promise

Sustainability for PMA is led by innovative design, energy-efficient practices, and a dedication to reducing waste and carbon emissions. We incorporate many sustainable methods company-wide at site and office level, and within all our projects to ensure full compliance.

Such Methods Include:

  • Reducing and managing waste
  • Using zero-waste skip suppliers who actively work to divert waste from landfills
  • Encourage hybrid working to reduce the number of staff commuting
  • Promoting "no printing" policy for home/office workers
  • Using solar power welfare units– all units used during summer months are completely carbon neutral
  • Employing local suppliers and labourers where possible
  • Upgrading our fleet vehicles from diesel/petrol to electric and hybrid, where possible

Biodiversity

PMA recognises the impact construction activities may have on ecosystems and is dedicated to minimising negative effects while promoting positive contributions to local environments.

Working closely with our Clients, we ensure that all project Environmental Impact Assessments are complied with to ensure the safety and protection of species during our operations, along with the sustainable growth and protection of the environment following handover and occupation.

We are committed to sourcing materials responsibly using sustainable, eco-friendly materials, such as FSC-certified timber & recycled Type 1 and avoid materials that contribute to habitat destruction.
