PMA (Services) Ltd take the issue of health and safety very seriously and our on-site teams closely follow our internal Health and Safety Policy to ensure the health and safety of everyone who might be affected as we carry out the work in your establishment

Taking the issue of health and safety very seriously

We have taken on a full-time independent Health and Safety Manager, who has been at the forefront of developing useable documents for each of PMA’s new projects. They identify risks, and show us how we can manage site-specific hazards. We have our Safety plan in place to develop method statements, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and Construction Phase Plan.


When appointed as the principle contractor on our projects we liaise and work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure the health and safety plans, risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments are all appropriate, relevant and up to date as well as set up with the correct site monitoring procedures.

PMA health and safety training

As part of PMA’s ongoing review of health and safety standards, we have developed individual training plans for our team members including:

  • First aid training
  • Asbestos awareness
  • PASMA training
  • SSSTS training for managers
  • SMSTS for senior managers
  • Counter balance training
  • Reach truck training
  • Telehandler training
  • CSCS cards

Site visits

Our Health and Safety Manager will visit your site at least once a fortnight to make sure that all company procedures and regulations are being followed and to assess whether workplace risk assessments need revising, updating, or creating.


We have also created a health and safety Dropbox link that is available to all staff members so they can access the company’s health and safety policies.

Site health and safety cabinets

Whilst we are working on-site we use a secure lockable mobile cabinet, which has been created by the Health and Safety Manager.


Managing health and safety in a live prison environment is an ongoing issue and it is essential that we keep health and safety information and paperwork safe and secure.


Our mobile cabinets can be located at all live work locations within your establishment.
